I have always enjoyed playing team sports. My current favorite softball. Since 2008, I have been playing recreational softball and entering tournaments. The best format that I have found are random draft tournaments. This format forces you to join a new team. The most successful teams are those that learn to communicate the fastest and the most effectively. I will be participating in the Spiderz Music City 2 Mega Draft in Nashville, TN this August!

Team Trivia

After work, one of my favorite things is to find a restaurant to play team trivia. It is a great way to socialize and flex your brain! I have been playing team trivia since 2005 with friends and family. I was also the captain of my high school's academic team, and we earned a spot at the NAQT quiz bowl national championship in 2010, go Sharks!

Dungeons and Dragons

At the beginning of Covid-19, I decided to start playing Dungeons and Dragons in order to stay social. My party takes take full advantage of the improvements to virtual meeting apps to play from all around the country. I have found that it is one of the best ways to practice creativity and teamwork!

Music

One of my biggest personal interests is music. Listening to and playing music has been a big part of my life. It started with my participation in the band program growing up. In order to continue playing music after school, I taught myself to play guitar. Here are my acoustic and electric guitars!

Adventuring

I grew up participating in the Boy Scouts of America. This experience taught me valuable life skills while instilling a passion for adventuring. Whether traveling, going on overnight hikes, or embarking on car camping road trips, I love discovering the unknown and being prepared for any situation! I took the above picture (as well as the background image) while car camping my way to Colorado from South Carolina to visit my sister.

Learning Languages

I have always had a curiosity for various languages. In high school, I learned basic Spanish and took one semester of basic Mandarin in college. We have a lot of German employees at my current company, so I used Duolingo to learn basic German. I am currently using Babbel to learn basic French to be able to communicate with my girlfriend’s Belgian family. I know how to introduce myself in all four languages, and I would love to learn more!
